On February 9th, the Bordeaux International Wine Institute and Wine About, the student association, welcomed Jean-Hervé Chiquet, owner and CEO of the famous Jacquesson Champagne House, for a conference .During his speech, Mr. Chiquet introduced students to the specificities of the Jacquesson House. He also outlined his vision of the Champagne market which, with 324 million bottles sold in 2011 (+1.4%), does not know no crisis. Besides, he mentioned the growing and promising foreign markets such as China and Russia, which each consume more than a million bottles a year.
A tasting at the end of the conference allowed students to discover several vintages of Jacquesson Champagne and to discuss with Mr. Chiquet.
The Jacquesson Champagne HouseFounded in 1798, the Jacquesson House was acquired in 1974 by the Chiquet family. It is now run by Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet. This property annually produces 350,000 bottles a year, sold all around the world.
