On the 22nd and 23rd of October the last 80 students of the 2015/2016 graduating class of the MBA 2 Wine Marketing and Management from INSEEC Wine & Spirits Institute conducted their study tour to the Rioja and Navarre region (North of Spain).
Getting up just before dawn and after a 7 hour bus ride, the students arrived to the Rioja region. As more than half the students are international Anglophones, they brought with them a multicultural atmosphere. The group of students were left to discover the vineyards and the marketing and commercial strategies of the region and the Spanish export market.
The students not only had the pleasure of visiting the Regalia of Ollauri but also the impressive field of Marques de Riscal with the famous « wine house » designed by Frank Gherry, an architect of the Guggenheim Bilbao.
This study tour was an opportunity for students to better understand and create a professional network before graduating from the school.
After a night in Logroño, the students visited the DO Navarra and Marco Real. In this relaxed but studious atmosphere, students discovered very different companies and evaluated wine quality and communication decisions made by the different brands.
